Hey! I am Pratik Bansal, a recent graduate from Purdue University, studied in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. I am currently working towards develping autonomous taxis at Motional. My main focuses are Automation and Autonomous Systems. I am fascinated by cars and I believe in a quote by Enzo Ferrari, "WHAT'S BEHIND YOU DOESN'T MATTER"
A little about where I am from:
I was born in West Bengal, India and I have spent 16 years of my childhood in Lagos, Nigeria. When my friends ask me where I am from, I like to say, "I am an Indian, who has lived in Nigeria all my life and I'm now studying in the States." It takes a while to digest that!

I decided to become a Boilermaker in August 2016, and have not looked back ever since! I am now a graduate with a degree in Electrical Engineering focused towards Automation.
I joined Legacy Tutorial Centre in freshman year of high school. I studied the British-based curriculum which incorporated IGCSE and A Level. This curriculum is what laid the building blocks for engineering!
I joined British International School at the start of middle school. The curriculum taught there was focused towards IGCSE and A levels. This school set the layout to do well in the British based curriculum.
This was my first step into the professional world, where I learnt considerably about network operations such as Network Surveillance and Fault Management. I also gained some exposure to field maintenance of 2G, 3G and 4G networks.
At this internship I learnt all about the world of voice assistants and cloud services. My project was to make an Alexa skill which acts as an interactive response system for institutions.
My role was to lead 5 undergraduate teaching assistants to guide students on topics related to digital systems and also teach the basic principles of digital applications. I also had to get students familiar with circuit design and Verilog programming. Along with these, I had to maintain the various technical equipments in lab.
I was given the task to completely modify the course in order to make it up to date with the latest technology. This required me to modify the lecture content, syllabus and practical labs associated with the course. My ideas on the modifications have been incorporated into the Summer 2019 semester at Purdue.
My role at Motional is to test the newly developed autonomous driving software. Keeping Motional's goal in mind, it is vital to develop and execute various test scenarios that would push the hardware and software components to the extreme limit.
